Amscan Holdings, Inc. 1996 - 2001
Working at Amscan was a great experience. I lived in Sleepy Hollow NY a beautiful small town on the Hudson river a train ride to NYC. I worked with illustrators and artists and learned Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand and prepress skills. The designs I’m sharing are my original artwork owned and copyrighted by Amscan .

1996 -Happy Birthday Plate Design. This artwork was done with Photoshop bit-mapped tiffs to create a watercolor feeling. The layout was done in Freehand.
Happy Birthday Layouts.
1996-1997 I designed this artwork in Freehand and Illustrator drawing all the vector shapes then layering them together in groups to create the flowers.
This was one of my first all vector artworks. To design the Happy Birthday text I worked with a script font that I then changed and hand did.
Happy Birthday.
1997 - Garden Party. The flowers are the same as the above “Happy Birthday” flowers creating a completely different layout for any occasion.

1997-1998 Baby Shower. I designed this with Photoshop bit mapped tiffs and Freehand.
1997-1998 Baby Shower Layouts
1997 - Fall Leaves for all occasions. I drew this in freehand creating the leaves with vector shapes. Using the beautiful trees of the Hudson Valley as inspiration.

1997-1998 “In The Grove” I created when Lisa Frank was big and Tween Girls were really into smile, daisy, and butterfly motifs were trending. This was long before cell phones and emojis.
1997- 1998 “In The Grove” Layouts
1998 - Designed for the last year of the millennium this was a lot of fun to work on. Gradients in printing were trending and creating artwork that looked 3-D was inspired by Pixar movies.
The design I did for 1999 I also developed for 2000 for the turning of the millennium.
1999 - With the millennium being a big deal I created a second “2000” Layout with the idea on NYC Ball Drop underneath the 2000.
Looking back on this artwork made me sad as I can remember drawing the twin towers in the left hand bottom corner just under the star shining down on them.
My “2000” Artwork was on Amscan’s catalog cover for the year 2000. Amscan sells all it’s party supply’s to Party City. If you look at the items you buy from Party City look for the hidden amscan logo.
I started to design & develop stickers and scrap-booking for Amscan these were sold in Micheal’s stores at the time. I love creating new product ideas and this die-cut sticker was one of my products that was created into a line of 6 designs.
